I Love Oscar

oscar_posterI’m a movie buff so of course I like to get into the Academy Awards every year.  Last year I didn’t watch because it just seemed like all the movies were so lame.  This year there seem to be some good flicks and performances.
Right now I’m loving TCM and AMC channels because they tend to do past Oscar winning movies in the days leading up to the Academy Awards.  I like what AMC is doing this year, they are showing the movies that got nominations but didn’t win.  Kind of cool.  The other night I missed The Last Detail – I was so pissed because that is a good one.  Oh well, it wouldn’t be the same with all the editing anyway right?  I did catch An Officer and A Gentleman, Casino, Working Girl and a few others.
Even HBO Signature showed one of my all time favs, Ordinary People.  Timothy Hutton was soooo good in that!  And so was Mary Tyler Moore – she had a surprising good performance and I always wondered why she didn’t do more movies after seeing her in that.  In fact the entire cast was good.  Now I wish I would have DVR’d it.
I decorated my twitter background with Oscar and thought I’d throw in an Oscar Youtube playlist too.  All of these songs have won the academy.  I don’t have them all but picked out a few for your enjoyment.
