I Missed The Harvest Moon!

I had meant to post this the day of or day before the harvest moon and first day of autumn.  This article gives you the low down of the harvest moon and what it means.  Interesting stuff.

I remember last year seeing the moon at this time and it was quite a sight to see.  The moon looked HUGE and I mean huge and ORANGE.  It was sooooooo  beautiful and mysterious looking like that.  The article states that the full moon really isn’t any bigger or orange but only looks that way because of the time it’s rising around a sunset.  Another time I saw it like that it was huge and yellow.  I always love seeing it because it’s a sign fall is here.  I love fall.

Flowers

I was just staring at my September flowers post and I must say they are some pretty flowers.  I would love to get a big bunch of purple asters like the ones I have pictured.  How different that would be.  How original and pretty they would be.  *sigh* flowers…. I wish I was on the receiving end of them.

On The Flip Side…

Of that last post, this was a breath of fresh air.

I did talk with another guy tonight that was from one of my dating sites.  We had emailed a few times and his email was very nice.  I think I mentioned him the other day.  He called me tonight and we chatted a bit.  A guy who sounds nice and normal.  In fact, he’s even active in his church so that’s a good sign too.

We seemed to carry a conversation well and chuckled a bit here and there.  When I told him I needed to get off the phone he asked if it was too soon to ask me out.  I told him no, it wasn’t too soon.  So we are planning for Thursday evening.  He said he would come up with some plans and give me a call to hammer out the details.  I like that of course.  I didn’t even have to tell him to do that, he just did it.  Love.

Can’t Anti Up the 1st, 2nd or 3rd Time? Then Get the Hell Out

So this assclown has emailed me yet AGAIN tonight.  What the hell?  I ignored his last email and now he is emailing me again.  I guess he was dropped on his head and didn’t get the message.

He’s being persistent now, I’ll give him that.  But no way.  I have learned my lesson from these types of assclowns.  They do this shit over and over.  Then when I think, “ok, I’ll give him another chance…” they totally pull more bullshit on me like not calling or not showing up for the date or weird lies and stories and I always get burned with these games.  Every single time when they are persistent like this – I’ll give in and get burned.  NO MORE.  I don’t care if you really are serious and you really do have everything all squared away.  You can try till your blue in the face.  No.

I just blocked him on my profile now.  That’s what I’m going to have to start doing with these punks.  I’m really tired of men not backing up what they say.  There seem to be very, very, very few men who have the balls to anti up.  Everyone else is just full of crap.  I’ll be cleaning those out of my life little by little.  My new nickname for these types of men…. the runaround guys.  Because that’s all they give you.  The runaround.

Cat Camp

An ex employee (and friend) of mine went away to Italy for two months and I agreed to take in her cat for that time.  He’s a real sweetheart.  He was always super affectionate with me.

Of course right now I have him in the spare room all to himself.  That’s because Lola wouldn’t be too pleased.  She’s already hissed and growled a few times.  She even hissed at me!  But… all perfectly normal.  Poor Beasy, I can tell he’s curious about Lola and wants to approach.  But I’ll have to take this slow.

I’ve had them separated like that for a few days now and rotating who gets to roam the rest of the house.  Lola gets the day time and Beasy gets the night time.  This evening I’m trying something different.  I just now switched their rooms.  Lola is now in Beasy’s room and Beasy is in mine (where I’m keeping Lola’s stuff right now).  This way they can get used to the scents of each other in privacy and without either feeling threatened.

This weekend though, I’m going to be letting them get closer.  There will be hissing and growling but at least I’ll be home to supervise.

In the meantime, I have created a Twitter account for Beasy so his mom can see how he is doing.  Go and check it out, he’s a pretty cool dude.  heh heh heh

September – Flowers

Each month in the calendar does have it’s birth flowers.  For September I’m seeing both Aster and Morning Glory.  I’ve even seen Forget-Me-Not’s listed as a September flower.  All of them have a blue/purple/periwinkle type colors and I like that.  I remember when I was a little girl how we had morning glory flowers growing up and down our fence in the back yard.  I like climbing plants/flowers like morning glories and ivy.

The Morning Glory
As its name insinuates, the Morning Glory is a flower that blooms in the morning hours. However, by the time the sun has fallen, the flower has died. Each morning will give birth to a brand new flower on the plant. Because they bloom in the morning, they are often pollinated by hummingbirds, bees, butterflies and other daytime birds and insects.  Fun and interesting fact: By soaking the flowers from the Morning Glory in water for a couple of weeks you can create a mildly alcoholic wine with a good flavor and mild psychedelic effect. You can add herbs or honey to this to enhance the flavor.

The Aster
The meaning of the September Birth Flower, the Aster is Love, Faith, Wisdom and symbolizes Valor  With their wildflower beauty and lush texture, asters have long been considered an enchanted flower.  In ancient times, it was thought that the perfume from their burning leaves could drive away evil serpents. Today, they’re known as a talisman of love and a symbol of patience.  Also known as starworts, Michaelmas daisies or Frost flowers, the name aster is derived from the Greek word for “star,” and its star-like flowers can be found in a rainbow of colors – white, red, pink, purple, lavender and blue, with mostly yellow centers.  The September birth flower, asters also hold the honor of being the 20th wedding anniversary flower.  In French tradition it is said that placing the flowers on the grave of a dead soldier is a tribute to his bravery.

Trapped and Strapped

Lately my car had been acting weird.  Kind of sputtering a little when I accelerated.  Of course I had $18 to my name all last week so I couldn’t take it in till I got paid.  Payday was yesterday and I figured I would take my car in this weekend or Monday or Tuesday to have it looked at.  So… I’m on my way back from getting my nails done and the car starts sputtering and jumping and the engine light comes on.  Lovely.  I made it home.  Of course I can’t drive it at this point since it’s doing that.

I’ve had this used 2005 car for about 5 months and I did purchase a warranty through the Credit Union.  The problem?  They are not open on the weekends and you have to call them first before any work is done.  Grrrrrr.  Oh well.  The dealership was booked today anyway so I booked a 7:30 am appointment for Monday morning.  They can shuttle me to work too so that’s nice.  Man…. I’m seriously hoping that whatever is wrong with it, is covered on the warranty.  I also hope it makes the drive to the dealership.

It’s times like this I really wish I had a man to help me with this kinds of stuff.  Not that I expect him to fix the car, but just to… well…. you know.. help me with this crap.

So I’m sure I’ll be strapped for cash again here soon and trapped here in the house all weekend.  I HATE this economy.  **Oh and anyone judging me for saying I don’t have money and getting my nails done can bite me.  My nails and inexpensive makeup are the little pleasures I have in life that don’t cost too much.  I don’t own a cell and I don’t drink Starbucks so there!
