Selling You the Kool Aid

I’ve been in sales a long time and have coached many employees but I was both amused and appalled when I overheard a sales supervisor today use this on one of their employees…

“You have to create fear and uncertainty in the customer and then they will buy.”

Funny…  that is the same approach the Democratic Party and the Liberal Media used to get your vote.

I follow this colleague on FB I used to work with back in the day.  I love his posts and comments on the election these days.  I saw this one and had to re-post it here along with a spirited exchange he was having with one of his FB friends.  I’ve changed the names to protect the innocent.  Both of them were making me laugh. The Cold War Still Continues

I had a pretty good laugh at work today with some co-workers.  We were discussing the women’s gymnastics team at the Olympics and the convo went like this:

Guy 1:  Did you see the women’s gymnastics last night?

Me:  Yeah that was pretty awesome.  I felt bad for the Russians.  They were so heartbroken.

Guy 1:  I know.  That has to be hard to have all that pressure on you when you are that young.

Guy 2:  I’m glad they were crying.

Me:  *laughs*

Guy 1:  Why do you say that?

Guy 2:  Man… fuck the Russians.  They killed Creed.

All:  LOL

Wonder Woman

The new Batman movie is coming out soon.  Not that I’m huge fan or anything but I do think Christian Bale has been the best one out of all the others.  I do miss that corny ass TV show with Adam West.  But I saw this picture on Pinterest and I quite like it.  heh.

I have wondered why Hollywood hasn’t made a Wonder Woman movie yet.  Some years ago I thought Angelina Jolie would make a good one with her large round eyes, lips, dark hair, long legs and big chest.  But she’s getting a bit older now so that opportunity might have passed.

Connection, No Connection… Long Live King George!

A few co-workers and I were talking about this weird story about two people being found at Luke Air Force Base – just 15 min from my house.  The one co-worker was also saying they closed the base in Tucson too but then the other co-worker was saying that one had nothing to do with the other and the news station was just reaching for a connection.

Now of course this news is shocking and I do take it seriously but the conversation did get funny and I had to share it.

Her:  Did you hear about these two people that got killed on Luke AFB?

Me:  How did they die?  What happened?

Her:  They were shot.

Him:  No, I think they were stabbed.

Me:  They were stabbed then shot… with bayonets!

All:  *laughter*

Him:  *in a strong English Accent*  long live King George!!  *makes stabbing motions with pretend bayonet*

All:  *laughter*

Supervisor Who Enters Our Convo:  What happened?

Him:  Two people on Luke AFB were killed.

Supervisor:  How were they killed?

Him:  They were stabbed with guns.

Supervisor:  What?

All:  *hard laughter*

Maybe you had to be there.  But it was funny as shit.
