Coach Stalker

So in recent years I have been seriously eyeing and desiring Coach purses.  I never thought I would be the type of person who would desire $400 purses.  I used to scoff at people who did because it is way too much for a purse.  But I have to say, I’ve been salivating over them for the last two years.

At one point when visiting Rambo, we did check out the Coach outlet store and they had some good deals but after seriously looking them over.  None of the ones there caught my fancy too much.  So I was good, I walked away empty-handed, even though Rambo was offering to buy me one.  See how good I am?  Honestly, if I’m going to get a Coach purse, it has to be one I LOVE or I can’t justify the cost.

I have been in love with the Madison Patent Maggie in Plum for some time now.  So long that it’s no longer available on the Coach site.  I think it was $378 but I’m seeing it going for $200 on ebay.  I constantly drool over it and wonder if I should pay the $200 and suck it up.  But man I love this one.

The picture doesn’t do it justice.  I had seen it in person one day while getting my nails done and some other customer had it.  I kept staring at it.  It just caught my attention so much.  I love purple and I like patent so there ya go.  At first I didn’t know it was a Coach and then finally I started to wonder if it was some particular brand and then looked for the logo and there it was.  I said to the lady that I loved her purse and she responded with, “Oh yes, this is my baby.”  Can’t say I blame her.

I’m Looking for a Brown Knuckled Woman

For the last few years I have noticed that my knuckles or rather the skin in between each knuckle on my right hand have these dry dark patches.  I have NO idea what they are from.  It’s only on my right hand.  I noticed being out in the sun more makes them darker.  Like they tan 10 times faster than the rest of my skin.   Even Rambo noticed it when I visited because they were darker.

It makes me think I’m some weird carnival freak show or something that makes me stand out and that line from the Princess Bride comes to mind, “I’m looking for a six fingered man.”  But instead it should be, “I’m looking for a brown knuckled woman.”

What the hell is that man??????  Google was no help at all.  I do nothing with my hand that would create these dark dry patches of skin.  Nothing makes them go away either.   It’s one of those WTF mysteries of life.  Kind of like when you think you hear the phone ringing when you use a blow dryer or when you feel like an ant or mosquito is biting you but you look at your arm and NOTHING is there.  I think it’s the devil.  It’s the devil doing these WTF things. Tap, Tap… Is This Thing On?

So my girl Barbi is telling me to basically get off my ass and blog some more.  That the mushy Rambo posts are too much to bare.  LOL She’s right, I’ve been a lazy blogger.  Even with a new look on the blog, which is fabulous I might add, I am still lazy.  Been tweeting here and there but lazy on that too!  I guess I need a cell phone so I can tweet more.  ha!  I’ll probably get one, one of these days.
I decided to make this blog public again and so I made it searchable in search engines again.  That may bring some new readers.  I miss getting the random comments from people who stumble upon my little world in bloggdom.  In case some of you didn’t know, I also have a Beauty/Makeup blog and also a Beauty/Makeup channel on Youtube.  So feel free to check those out and subscribe to my channel.  Yay for girly shit!
Not too much going on with me.  Still single and fabulous.  Still need to lose weight.  Still working (thank goodness).  Still looking for a better job that pays more though.  The salary I’m making now is what I made in 96 so yeah…. not really covering all my living expenses.  It is… but… I’m constantly broke and having to watch my money.  If something were to break down, I wouldn’t have the money.  The only thing I really can afford extra is my nails and makeup and quite frankly, I need to chill on that.  Buying too much makeup these days.
Haven’t done much of anything to tell you the truth.  Been living a pretty boring life these days.  This is why I haven’t blogged too much.  But.. boring is better than bad right?

Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie

Went to the Ulta store to get a few makeup items.  A few things for me and a few gifts.  First I have to say, I am a kid in a candy store when it comes to Ulta or Sephora or the MAC counter at Dillards.  Even the drug store makeup.  I wanted everything dude.
I’m loving that Daisy scent perfume by Marc Jacobs.  But the price… Outch!!!   Why in the hell is scented liquid so damn much money?  Yeah, that stayed on the shelf.  I like the Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture a heck of a lot as well.  That stayed on the shelf too.  Fooey!  Then I saw all the holiday scents for the Philosophy shower gels.  Holy Moly they got a lot more holiday scents this year!!!!!   They called to me like dogs and cats in a pound “take me, take me!!”  I had to leave them be too.
I barely bought anything at the store and on top of that I bought cheap brands like LA Splash and NYX.  AND…. some of these items were buy one get one at 50% off.  Yet it still made me go, “How much??” when the total rang up.  These were little things like lip gloss and eye pencils and a nail polish too.  The beauty industry rips us wimmin folk off big time.  I’m clearly in the wrong line of work.  But… I’m always up for charity.

Zombie Moisturizer

I ran out of my favorite face moisturizer and went to the CVS.  They only had one left on the shelf.  The next day when I was using it, I noticed the consistency was different.  Thicker.  Then later I noticed it sort of had a peeling effect on my face.  I thought, “Man I hate when they change formulas of products.  Good Lord.”
The next day same thing so I look at the packaging.  It’s a little different.  Hmmm…. I look for the expiration date.  Uh….. expires in January of 2006.  O_O  What the hell?  Why does the store have a moisturizer that freaking old on the shelf????  2006???  Really???  It was either a package that got lost in the depths of the shelf or in the back and went undiscovered these years, until recently so someone put it on the shelf not thinking how old it was.  Either that or someone returned an old ass unused bottle of it, pulling a fast one.  Either way, ick.
Of course I took it back and exchanged it.  The guy was like “wow” when I showed him.  When I pulled a new one off the shelf I made sure to open the packaging and check the date.  2012.  Used it this morning and it was the way it was suppose to be.  Thank goodness.  Women’s products are expensive too!  I’ll be checking everything from now on.

What Should I Do On The Berfday?

So the birthday of Martini Girl is coming up on the 10th and I was thinking of taking advantage of the freebies this year.  I have a membership to Sephora and on your birthday they give you a free beauty gift.  I think it’s like sample size so it isn’t much.  I think Red Robin gives you a free burger, Denny’s a free meal and so on.  I wish more makeup companies gave freebies like Sephora!  What else is free everyone?
Also, wondering if I should do something this year.  My day falls on a Friday.  Usually I never do anything and it’s a regular day like any other.  I kinda want to do something but have no clue what.  Not to mention most of my friends are far away *wah*.
Any ideas anyone?  Does anyone even still read this blog?  Is this thing on?  *tap tap*

What Does It Take To Get A Haircut In This Town??

I colored my hair early this morning because I really needed to.  Sadly my hair has been pretty damaged ever since I started coloring it on a regular basis but I have to, I’m starting to get, dare I say it?  Gray hair.  The moment I started seeing like 5 and 6 gray hairs in my late 30’s, that was it.  Now my hair is fried.
So… looking at my hair today I decided I really needed a haircut too.  Especially since I have an interview coming up this week at my place of work.  Nothing real dramatic, just getting the ends trimmed up and putting a small bit of layers in my hair.  I figured it would make it a little healthier and give it some shape.
I head out around 4pm and I kid you not, I stopped at seven places.  Seven.  And either these places closed at 4pm, went out of business, closed on Mondays, the hair dressers left early, or the places were just flat out closed even though the hours painted on the window clearly stated they should be open according to the day and time it was.  Geezus crimminy!  What the hell does a girl gotta do to get her freaking hair cut???  I mean really?  4pm?  What about the people who get off work at 5pm?  Hair salons used to stay open till 6 or 7 pm.
Finally on stop number eight I went to Beauty Brands because one, I remembered they had a salon within the shop itself and two, I had been meaning to go in there this week because they are having a major hair spray sale.  All brands (or I think all brands) of hair spray for only $6.98 a can.  Sure enough their salon was still open and a nice young lady took me in right away.  She did a good job too.  The cut was only $25 and that floored me.  Usually women’s hair cuts are more expensive.  Then I bought two nail polishes and two big cans of Big Sexy Hair spray for $6.98 ea – Score.  That stuff usually retails for $17 a can.  Yes, no joke.  I hear it’s a really good hair spray but I’ll be dammed if I’m going to pay in the double digits for friggin hair spray.
Some woman in line before me bought 12 cans of it (that was the limit on the sale).  What a douche bag.  I hate people like that.  Do you really have to be that greedy?  Are you selling that stuff on ebay for $14 a can?  Are you really buying all those for yourself?  I seriously hate people like that.  It’s like those people that go in the grocery store when there is a sale on the Weight Watcher’s TV dinners or something and some douche comes in there right before you go to grab one and they take them ALL and put them in their cart, leaving none on the shelf.  People like that need their ass kicked in my opinion.
My hair feels so soft right now, I love it.  I’m glad I didn’t give up and stopped there.  It was also nice to spend some money on myself.
