From Helping People to Destroying People

Once upon a time unions had their place.  They have helped the lives of many and helped shaped better working environments for people.  Over the years this organization has turned into greedy, overpaid thugs who destroy everything.

Of course some people think unions are good to make things “fair” and consistently force pay raises for their members.  Businesses cannot operate that way.  They cannot pay everyone 70k a year with HUGE pensions and pay for everything to keep their business afloat.  Unions slow down profits, work productivity and progress.  They damage healthy communication between the employer and the employee.  They claim the employers are greedy (I’m not denying some are) when they are greedy themselves.  These union bosses make a shit load of money.  They make their money off the backs of the workers making them pay dues.  All the while speaking on behalf of the workers even against the workers will without a say in their own negotiations.

We are in a time where we no longer have sweat shops.  We have safety procedures, fire escapes, osha, child labor laws, work/lunch breaks, laws against discrimination, human resources departments, and on and on today.  There is NO NEED for unions.

So this whole thing with Hostess… damn shame.  The company is working in a shitty ass economy and in order to save jobs wanted to have workers take an 8% cut in pay.  They were not being greedy, they were trying to save their company and their employees jobs.  But of course the union goes crazy, has a strike and calls their bluff.  Hostess delivered by then announcing the shutdown of everything, filing for bankruptcy and liquidating everything.  18,000 people now out of work in the blink of an eye.  I would have gladly taken an 8% pay cut over being UNEMPLOYED IN THIS ECONOMY.  Guess who still has their jobs?  The union.  Nice work.

I saw this on Twitter, “Twinkies made it thought the Great Depression and World War II, but couldn’t withstand Obama.”  So true.  But then, I’m sure Michelle (tell us what to eat) Obama is very happy.

State Run Media and Priorities

Remember those members of the U.N. who were sent here to observe our voting process?  An article I read said they couldn’t understand why we are not required to show proof of ID to vote and that we allow mail in ballots and even some online voting.  They were surprised at quite a lot of things actually.

This time the USDA delayed its release nine days past the semi-official deadline, far past the election, and until Friday night to report August food stamp data. One glance at the number reveals why: at 47.1 million, this was not only a new all-time record, but the monthly increase of 420,947 from July was the biggest monthly increase in one year.

Sandy victims still without power and supplies.  Some reports I saw say that there is a lot of red tape going on.  Things like supplies just sitting in areas and not being distributed.

Then of course there is Benghazi.  Yes remember that?  Four Americans die in a seven hour dog fight after being told stand down while drones fed it all live to Washington D.C.  SEVEN HOURS.  Then the world told for weeks it was a video to be blamed.

These things are not being reported on our state run media I guess because well… it’s not news?  Not important?  Don’t want to hurt President Lady Parts reputation?  Yet an affair involving decorated military generals is on the front of every web page, newspaper and TV station for two straight days and I’m guessing many more to come.  So very pleased that America has its priorities straight.  ‘Cause well… I was confused as to what we should be focusing on to help our country and its citizens.

Dear Media, SHAME on You!

I cannot believe in this day and age that the news has become so in the tank for the left as to not report important world news in the way that they have over this Benghazi mess.  I know that a majority of the media and reporters are left leaning and always have been, but this is absolutely ridiculous!  It’s an outrage.  This is the biggest political scandals we have seen for something like this.  Watergate and the Iran Contra scandals are nothing compared to this.  And even with both of those scandals both Presidents took responsibility and no one died.  This is a major cover up and people were brutally murdered.  If it’s not a cover up then it is proof of the biggest incompetent and uncaring American President ever.  The American public (as well as the rest of the world) need to know the truth and before election day, not after.

Take a look at how it wasn’t even mentioned (aside from Fox News) by any of the Sunday news shows EXCEPT when Conservative guests brought up the subject.

Also SooperMexican, a person I have followed on Twitter for some time writes an interesting post at how Twitter can make the difference in making sure the hard questions are asked, including one he himself submitted to a local news station reporter who asked for questions to ask the President.  Hats off to that reporter for actually asking the tough questions.  But of course our Failure in Chief avoids real answers on the death of those Americans and what was and was not done.

Give these folks a call and demand coverage and truth and to prove themselves credible by reporting Benghazi.

Round One: Knock Out

The first presidential debate and oh what a debate it was!  Mitt wasn’t playing and Obama seriously got his ass handed to him.  Gov. Mitt Romney did me proud!

Mitt was confident, prepared, factual, had eye and body contact.  He had Moxi.  He was a leader.  Something this country has been lacking in the last four years.  Obama had no confidence.  He didn’t even challenge Mitt on anything.  Just looked down, away, smirked, stood silent and at one point got off track in different directions on something he didn’t know how to answer.  Hell he even told the moderator at some point to change the subject.

That’s what happens when the only reporters or shows you go on are in the tank for you.  You get only fluffy, soft ball questions and not tough questions.  You need to be challenged more often to get the practice and know how to answer shit.  You also don’t get teleprompters or speech writers in a debate.  You don’t get your “down with the man” crowds or any kind of media filter in a debate.  We see the real you under pressure.

There were so many good parts of that debate it’s hard to remember them all.  I loved it when Obama tried to say that the natural resources were doing good under his watch and then Mitt came back with

“The third area, energy. Energy is critical, and the president pointed out correctly that production of oil and gas in the U.S. is up. But not due to his policies. In spite of his policies.

Mr. President, all of the increase in natural gas and oil has happened on private land, not on government land. On government land, your administration has cut the number of permits and licenses in half. If I’m president, I’ll double them, and also get the — the oil from offshore and Alaska. And I’ll bring that pipeline in from Canada.

And, by the way, I like coal. I’m going to make sure we can continue to burn clean coal. People in the coal industry feel like it’s getting crushed by your policies. I want to get America and North America energy independent so we can create those jobs.”

Or this little nugget..

“But you make a very good point, which is that the place you put your money just makes a pretty clear indication of where your heart is. You put $90 billion into — into green jobs. And I — look, I’m all in favor of green energy. $90 billion, that would have — that would have hired 2 million teachers. $90 billion.

And these businesses, many of them have gone out of business, I think about half of them, of the ones have been invested in have gone out of business. A number of them happened to be owned by people who were contributors to your campaigns.”

There were other zingers and if you watched you heard them all.  Even the closing arguments were so different.  Obama basically said nothing new.  More of the same from him.  Romney’s was very strong in laying out what he would do including military support which is a biggie for me.

You know it was bad when MSNBC had a meltdown of what happened.  Poor Chris.  Frankly I’m surprised that I haven’t heard the excuse it was Bush’s fault that Obama did so poorly.  Or that it’s racist to say that Mitt won this round.  But then, it’s more like the altitude that contributed right Al?

As The World Burns… Obama Skips Intelligence Brief to Campaign

The day after the attacks and murders on our embassies, not only does Barry head to Las Vegas to campaign, but he skipped his intelligence brief.  A President skipping an intelligence brief meeting the day after a terrorist attack?  Who does this???  This man cares for nothing but himself.  He is a complete buffoon.  Here is a snippit from a really great and well written article from the Washington Post.

According to the public schedule of the president, the last time the Obama attended his daily intelligence meeting was Sept. 5 — a week before Islamist radicals stormed our embassy in Cairo and terrorists killed our ambassador to Tripoli. The president was scheduled to hold the intelligence meeting at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, the day after the attacks, but it was canceled so that he could comfort grieving employees at the State Department — as well he should. But instead of rescheduling the intelligence briefing for later in the day, Obama apparently chose to skip it altogether and attend a Las Vegas fundraiser for his re-election campaign. One day after a terrorist attack.

America Should Be Outraged

Our embassies attacked on the 9/11 anniversary. I ask this, how in the hell can we not up our security on our embassies in these countries on the 9/11 anniversary? How can we have not protected them when we had warning? How can we apologize for America’s freedom of speech instead of defending it? We are now apologizing for “hurting feelings” on religion?? So we defend the “religion of peace” who by the way HATE us and want us all dead, yet it’s ok for people to say worse things about Mormons and Christians in this country? Why do people never ever utter the words “War on Terror” yet they can say there is a “War on Women?” War on women? Really? Attacking embassies and killing people is an act of war! Yet our President comes across with a ho-hum attitude earlier today and decides to fly off to Las Vegas to campaign anyway. American citizens whom we are supposed to protect were brutally killed, the unemployment rate still above 8% and trillions in debt, yet we must talk about women whining for me to pay for their abortions and birth control and removing don’t ask don’t tell from the military. I hardly think these are more important issues than what is really going on in the country right now don’t you think? This is outrageous.
